Special Operations Task Group
SOG - Special Operations Task Group
Särskilda operationsgruppen (English: Special Operations Task Group, SOG) is a part of the Swedish Amred Forces within the Special Forces which has been active since 2011. SOG's unit has been at Karlborgs Fortress.
Special Operations Task Group was formed the year 2011 when The Swedish Armed Forces merged The Special Defense Group and The Special Gathering Group into one special force group. The germ of SOG can be found in different sorts of Jaeger units like paratroopers and the Jaeger commanders.
Training
One thing to be mentioned is that SOG-operators are the toughest of the toughest, it can be compared with the Americans NAVY SEALS because of the very difficult tasks for both mind and body.
The base-course for every SOG-operator is during 12 months of hard work. Everything that the operators do during this period is classified but things we private individuals get to know is that there are three different parts in the training. First they train basic fighting and get to know how to act in different sorts of combat. Then it is ability-specific training so the operators get to train on they're specialised division for example: medical education, reconaissance and explosives, every operator gets to specialise in one thing. Then it is the last training part, positioning training, which is very much like the second training but now they different specialised persons work together and get a team to work with.
The best special organisation group
SOG have for many years been one the best special forces, which you can see through different competitions that every special force is having every year. In that competition the different groups compete physical and mentally were judges then decide which country is the best.
The competition itself is classified in what happends and so on, but what we normal persons know is which team that won and different placements. Sweden was in the last competition placed as the number one team in the world and SOG are therefore the best special force in the world! NAVY SEALS is also very tough but SOG is even better and even stronger.
SOG has a very special motto, "Forward through the night.", which kind of explains the classified force and how they act without being seen but with such skill.
